Government Relations The CSP represents pathologists in government affairs and provides a voice to legislators and regulatory policy makers. Members work together on all areas that have a potential impact on pathology in California, such as: • Reimbursement CSP represents pathologists at the State Capitol in Sacramento. Some of the more recent issues have been: • CLIA The CSP also interacts with other state and national societies such as the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
California Seminars in Pathology The California Seminars in Pathology is the CSP Annual Educational Meeting, which has achieved national status as one of the highest quality CME opportunities for pathologists. Attendees come from throughout the United States. The substantial membership discount on registration fees practically compensates for dues expense.
Resources & Guidance The CSP is a resource for information and direction on legal and practice issues. We provide references to outside attorneys and consultants for specific member assistance. Members can receive a discount on medical malpractice insurance from a number of carriers.
Quarterly Newsletter The CSP Bulletin is a quarterly newsletter, which keeps members current of Society activities. It also provides a review of local, state and national legislation and important practice issues and regulations.
